Muay
Thai Boxing is an art form that utilizes all of the body`s eight limbs
to create a devastating fighting style, as competitive in the ring as
it`s effectiveness for self-defense. This art differs from Tae kwon do
and Kung Fu in several respects; In Muay Thai "forms" do not exist, nor
does the practice of pulling your techniques before they make impact.
Using
specially designed pads and no-nonsense training
methods, kicks, punches, knees and elbows are practiced full power and
without holding back. Muay Thai`s no-nonsense approach to training
makes the techniques easy to learn and extremely effective for
self-defense regardless of athletic ability. Muay Thai Boxing is simple
- stresses conditioning, power and effective self-defense.

Jiu Jitsu
Universal
MMA offers a complete Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu program under the guidance of
Marcus Soares – 7 th degree Carlson Gracie Black Belt - that
incorporates excellent technique, live sparring, competition training,
and fitness.
Although our classes are intense and
utilize a vigorous
exercise program, our instructors recognize that each student is an
individual with unique goals and progresses at his or her own level
according to that student's athletic and martial arts background and
level of fitness.
In general, our classes
are formatted as follows: The classes begin with a warm-up to help
protect
against injury and increase stamina and fitness. Following the warm-up,
the instructors teach various techniques so that the students have a
full arsenal of submissions, takedowns, sweeps, reversals, and escapes.
Finally, the students engage in live sparring in order to practice and
execute the various techniques that they have learned.

Boxing classes are
intense, one hour workout guaranteed to
make you sweat. Our professional trainers will put you through your
paces
with Boxing techniques , push-ups, abdominal work, hitting heavy bags
and focus mitt training.
No other technical or
one-hour workout will
push you this hard.
Core
MUAY THAI
Universal teaches the real techniques of kickboxing. Emphasis
is on fun, learning, and getting in shape. Through
regular participation in this class you will build endurance, speed,
timing, rhythm, strength and self confidence...
You
will also see that
this class will not only will help increase your metabolism, which
helps you burn fat more efficiently, but you will enhance your muscle
tone to not only feel great but look great as well.

Combat conditioning
Whether
you are just looking to lose a few extra pounds or you
want a competitive edge to up your game, Combat Conditioning is for
you. 30
minutes of
intense physical exercise designed to increase
speed, strength,
cardiovascular performance, and overall fitness.
Moving you through
constantly evolving high intensity circuits
including
calisthenics, plyometrics, core strength routines, and more.
Combat Conditioning will give you the functional fitness
and confidence to meet any challenge head on.

WRESTLING
The
ancient art of Freestyle and Greco-Roman wrestling is a
sport of the highest order. Wrestling is a hand to hand
combat between two competitors subject to certain rules. Each
competitor tries to control the movements of the other through complex
techniques and tactics and by using their physical and psychological
potential.
Its major emphasis for
everyone is physical strength, superb conditioning and clean
living. Wrestling develops an individual’s ability to act and
react with intelligence in adverse and stressful conditions.
Wrestling
aids in developing good health, the fighting spirit
of youth and valuable qualities that will last an individual a
lifetime.
Competition sparring
The
competition sparring classes are designed to bring your training to the
next level - in this class you will have the opportunity to put the
techniques you have learned in class to the test. While it
is not a requirement, that you are a current competitor or have
aspirations to compete in the future, students attending this
class must be ready to spar and train at a high level.
The
classes will be open to all disciplines - MMA , BJJ, Submission
Wrestling and Muay Thai. Instructors will be available to answer
questions and watch over the sparring. Students must have at
least 3 months of training experience - it is advisable that students
interested in participating in the sparring class, ask a coach if they
are ready for type of intensified training.
All
students must bring all their gear! This includes 16 oz boxing
Gloves and/or MMA gloves, mouth guards, shin guards and Head gear. If
you do not have all your gear you may not participate!
We
will start all classes with a warm – up, followed by a stretch.
The warm - up is designed to build cardio/ conditioning, improve
flexibility and prevent injuries in training.
MMA
Mixed
Martial Arts
focuses
on both ground and stand-up technique. This martial arts style combines
many other arts and focuses on teaching the core fundementals of each.
With our
experienced staff headed by Denis Kang's teaching our students
will not
only gain fundemental learning, but inside knowledge that only
experience can bring.
